The 2026 Central Region Conference takes place Friday October 30 and Saturday October 31 at Drake University in Normal, Illinois. Our theme is Focusing on our Center, with the hope of reinforcing the connections of the Central Region while getting singers to focus on their mind/body connection for excellent music-making.

The conference includes two performance classes on Friday evening (classical, contemporary, and musical theatre), zip-fast interest sessions and presentations on Friday, a teacher breakfast/business meeting on Saturday morning, presentation of a lifetime achievement award, and of course the region-level National Student Auditions on Friday and Saturday.

CONFERENCE PRESENTATIONS: Please see the CALL FOR PARTICIPATION which closes Sunday 10/4 at 6 PM CDT.

CONFERENCE PERFORMANCE CLASSES: Nominate a student for the Musical Theatre class with David J. Baldwin of NYU’s Steinhart or the Classical class with Amanda Majeski of DePaul University and the Curtis Institute. Nominations close Saturday, October 17 at 6 PM CDT.

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD: Karen Brunssen, Northwestern University
